Default Pinch roller design fault?

I've had my Expert 24 Lx now for just under a year, and as much as I like it I've had to replace the 2 pinch rollers due to cracks. I'm just wondering if this is quite a common thing or if it's random and I'm just being too heavy-handed with it. I can't say i've treated it that badly but I have had the levers pop out of the back of the rollers and I'm thinking that maybe the cracks have happened when I've popped them back in. Anyone else had these problems or can shine any light on it?

A fair number of people, including me, have had the same issue.

Call them, if you are in the warranty period they'll replace them at no charge.

They've replaced them for free quite quickly, so I can't complain there. I'm just wondering whether I should save up to invest in a back-up cutter. How much do they cost once the warranty's run out?

The last few posts in this thread https://www.t-shirtforums.com/gcc-bra...t185192-2.html

Talks about possible replacements and the cost of the GCC roller assemblies.

The cheaper price of the cutter will be offset if you have to keep replacing parts on it after the warranty is over. It would be nice if they have fixed the roller design by now, but looks like they keep redesigning the rollers, but the rollers still keep cracking.

Question: How often are all of you using this cutter? I was planning on saving up for one, but there seems to be a huge flood of cracked rollers lately. I understand that this is not a heavy production machine so I'm wondering whether it's an actual design flaw or the machine being overused.

The intial expert 24's came out with rollers made from a cheaper form of plastic. The newer rollers are much much more durable. But yes the older ones did crack along the "hinge" of the roller causeing tracking issues.

Mine was purchased new about 14 months ago and the rollers replaced a month or so ago under warranty.

The replacements look exactly the same but hopefully more durable.
