Default error code 1001D

I've been getting a 1001D error code just after the print head grinds trying to leave the docking station. I have been adjusting the set screw but can not seem to find the exact setting were it will function correct. Am I on the right track or should I be looking for another problem.
Thank You
Alan

Move the carriage unit o the left side of the machine and start the machine. If it is the wiper blade that is keeping the carriage unit from leaving the capping station this should fix it. If not there is most likely something hitting the carriage unit.

The easiest way for me was to take the capping station out of the machine. The reason for that is there could be two problems. One could be that the gear has spun to far and the wiper blade is not going through its stages properly but that usually only happens if the white gear on the side of the capping station that drives the wiper blade has been spun to far by hand.

The other is that the plastic arm that moves the wiper blade back and forth has popped out of its channel. It is pretty easy to pop back in but you want to be careful so as not to break it.

Before you do that though make sure there is nothing blocking the carriage unit from moving. Make sure the green tab is in the unlock position.

Also make sure the Home Position sensor which is right below the thick circular copper piece above where the encoder strip begins is sitting flush with the metal piece it clips onto. It has a yellow plug with white and black wires running to it If this is not sitting flush this will sometimes give you this error.

If this doesnt work then let me know because 0001001D error can be a wide variety of issues but since you are getting a grinding sound this would be my first thought on why.

What happened with this? We get that error and the loud grinding before it as well.... New print head.
