Default Hat Champ - Blurry prints

Hi, I'm using the Livingston Hat Champ and I'm having an issue in getting my print to come out crystal clear, especially at the bottom any fixes for this? (the height is at 3 which is the highest I could get and the surface is a 100% poly trucker cap) Please see two pics attached. Thanks in advance, Alison.

Blurry Edge - It looks to me that the hat is contracting while it is printing. Brim may be stretched down a bit tight.

Seeing as how your 100% poly hat looks like you are printing on a window screen and not smooth cotton I'd say the rest is pretty clean looking.

I use Hat Champ for screen printing and have found that it works very well if I heat the hat in the clamp with my flash unit before I print. It relaxes the stiff backing and allows the clamp to easily lock down. Then the hat surface is pre shrunk and lies flat. I would think for DTG you could achieve a similar result by heating the hat with a heat gun before running it through.
