Default Leaving the printhead in cleaner fluid overnight

Hello,

I have a DTG printer based on SureColor P400 model.

My printing schedule is all over the place due to the nature of my business. Sometimes the printer will print for the whole day, sometimes there are 2-3 days between printing sessions. I do the daily printer maintenance, I try to at least purge some white ink in the process in order to keep it flowing.

That said, I still have some clogging issues. I think it might be partially because of the printhead being left in capping station with white ink residue that hardens on it.

Is it safe to fill the capping station with cleaner fluid and then park the print head into it overnight? That should limit the clogging problem, but won't it damage the printhead?

don't judge me over this question, but I was wondering... Why people don't clean this stuff in ultrasonic cleaner?

You have to take the print head out. I did try that when we had a DTG printer but it was a PITA and didn't help much, if at all.

Oh my, I don't remember. I take the unpopular view that DTG is not worth doing after trying it for 7 years.

But the real expert on this is Justin Walker. He should chime in on this but I haven't seen him in a while.

Also a side note using ultrasonic cleaners on certain heads destroys them internally. It is usually the Epson heads that get destroyed especially DX5 and DX7. It may work for a time but it significantly shortens the print heads life span to a few months at best after that. The old Brother print heads were the only ones tough enough to use ultra sonic on and even then you had a 60/40 chance of it dying. I'm not sure why it happens but It always does.
