Default A couple of newbie questions...the basics

Hate to post about such simple things but that few hours of training flys by you...

1. What head height is the average for the platen? We keep getting the error that our shirt is too high. I have watched this printer for years at trade shows (granted they are experienced) and never saw this error.

2. Does anyone have a guideline for choking back the white? We on occasion have some white underbase sneaking out. Do you have a default you always use on a basic T-shirt?

3. What are your average quality settings in garment creator? We seems to have good results at level 3 and really do not see much difference going to level 4.

4. We ran a couple of test on white and the print actually looked better without pre-treatment. Does that sound right? We pretreat with a Lawson. I realize some never pretreat on white but I was hoping for better wash results.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

On the head height, use the smallest gap possible, but that will depend on your substrate. The further away the head gets from the garment, there is almost an over spray of ink and the print becomes muddy.
We use 7 for the white choke. We did a lot of experimenting and it has worked best for us.
We don't pretreat white. No need to. It iadds cost.

The new Epson Pretreatment Concentrate can be diluted one part pretreat to 9 parts distilled water for use on white or light color garments with CMYK prints.

Make sure your garment is laying completely flat on the platen. Any little fabric rise will be noticed by the printer sensor and and will eject the platen.
