Default New Suggested Maintenance Procedure For Epson F2000

Cleaning the spit tray filter once a week on the Epson F2000 should be a part of your regular preventive maintenance schedule.

Our support guys took some pictures to show just how quick and easy it is to do.

Here are the first 3 pictures.

Thank you sir!

I hate to admit it but I never knew that. I was only cleaning mine on every replacement.

Update - You better believe mine is spotless now, haha!

Yes good idea, I have always kept mine clean.....

So what is the objective of the weekly cleaning? What are we preventing? What problems are being caused by the spit station not being clean?

Just looking for some clarification and setting expectations...

I was advised and shown how to clean this filter when my printer was commissioned. I usually do it at the end of every day because it takes about one minute. It certainly didn't stop my printer from having the 'issue'.

Are you using hot water? How often are you washing it out?

I've only had the printer for 2 weeks. I started rinsing it with hot water at the end of each day.

The fibres of the filter will absorb some colour. You'll never return it to 'as new' condition. This simple procedure is stopping the filter from clogging which occurs when large ink deposits are left to dry.

After you rinse it hold it up to light and you'll know you're good to go.
