Default My Turn - Lost White Channels 3&4

All F2000 owners should be aware by now that this issue is not a case of 'if' but 'when'.

Started the printer this morning and after several head cleans I cannot get any white to print from WH3 and WH4.

I have so much work on this week and to say this is an inconvenience is an understatement! I guess you never know how badly this breakdown effects you until you experience first hand. I have deadlines everyday this week and 75% of these jobs are for new customers.

Apparently my dealer has to submit the warranty claim to Epson and I've been advised that they will have a tech' out when it suits them.

I'm currently waiting on a call back to find out how long I will have to wait to get this fixed. This is not a good time.

Darn... Guess welcome to the club.... Her in the States, I called Epson direct and they took the case information and got the call from the repair tech with his schedule...

I don't enjoy being a member of this club Roy... But it's inevitable that all F2000 owners will become members at some stage unless Epson find a permanent fix for this issue.

This design is printed with only 2 white channels. Three passes on the base white instead of one from NeoRIP. How fitting is the image? This is exactly how I feel printing with only two white channels available!

At least this customer will still get their shirts on time as promised. It may be taking me 3 times as long to print, but where there's a will, there's a way.

Still haven't heard from Epson...

From what I've researched on TSF every fix of this 'somewhat common' issue is something the owner/user does not hear about... or is advised about... post fix.

Epson have contacted me tonight and hopefully I'll see a tech' 'soonish'.

I love my F2000 but one of the wheels has fallen off and I'm driving erratic. With only 2 white channels available I'm currently banging out a shirt every 20 mins. Working into the night, but at least I'm still semi functional.

Many would have called it a day by now...

Head down and nutting it out. Luck follows those that make their own.

Appreciate the encouragement Ryan. Sort your issues tomorrow. I'll call you.

Sorry to hear that Mark. Out of curiosity, do you know how many authorized techs do they have throughout Australia?

That sux! I hate that for you. Makes me nervous too, I'll admit.

How may prints did you have on your F2000? How long have you owned it? About how many prints were you averaging a week? Mostly dark colored t's, whites or lights?

Are you an every day cap head cleaner? Do you do the normal light white head cleaning every morning until your nozzle check prints properly? Have you noticed that the heads need more cleaning on startup than usual?

Sorry Mammath. If there is anything I can help you with let me know...even though I am stateside.

Great questions Geno. At this point, I'm not sure if there is any method triggering this. But if it can be narrowed down to actual users in the field with consistency, it will definitely benefit owners.

Default Re: My Turn - Lost White Channels 3&4

I've had the F2000 for 6 months.
I have a little under 3K prints on this machine.
I only print 5 days a week.
99% of my work is dark garments so white is used every day it runs. Usually a light clean on the white channels gets me started in the morning if I've been running the day before. Mondays always require a 1 x medium clean on the white to get white channels clean.
I always start the day with a head clean and nozzle check.
Last tube flush was the 4th of May.
I don't clean the suction cap every day because there just isn't a lot of build up. Once a week, at the end of the week before it sits idle over the weekend has been the norm for me.

I noticed on last Friday that it took 1 x Medium clean to get white channels clean. Printing was fine for that day. Yesterday no white out of WH3 and WH4 after several medium cleans.

When I explained this issue to my dealer and their Epson account manager they were surprised to hear me call this issue a common problem. I've been keeping record of all the members on this F2000 forum who have this issue with losing white channels on this machine and have needed major repairs to fix the issue under warranty. (Some more than once).

Here's the list in no specific order:

BakedT's
Jmelwak
okPrinter
AsidClothing
ShirtGal
SammySammy
kaizer
Jcs2013
laililai
khaledh
mark9861
tguycarrol
goff2000
Ramirez016
Mammath

I don't think I'm over exaggerating when I use the term 'common problem'.
