Everyone needs to call and complain to a manager! If we get enough people calling and harassing them maybe we can do something to fix the issue. Its ridiculous they do not allow others to help with the issues like dealers themselves.

They say that there is no problems on there end when we all know there is! When you go through 2-4 print heads with only small amount of prints there is something wrong!

also
Yes we have a humidity gauge and its always above 50% and our temp never reaches over 80 degrees in here, in summer its around 75-77 and winter is 69-72 every day, we pretreat with epsons pretreatment and let the shirts cool and sit before printing.

I have learned fast that we are simply guinea pigs, and tiny little Ants in the Epson grand scheme of things. I would call and complain if I could actually get thru to someone. I honestly think Epsons fix will be a new model printer, and some type of deal on trade in of old one. It will be within 1-3 years when warranty experiment runs out.

We need to find 1 phone number that everyone contacts when we have issues, so it actually has some type of effect, so if you do find a phone number that is not some main number, and gos right to digital print dept or someone that actually cares, please post it so we can all call the same person/dept.

i have been calling (562)276-1305
asking straight for a manager because the people that answer directly have no clue, they just want to setup a tech to come out. I have spoken to Deloris over there many of times and no help at all, like she could care less....

After we got our printer I contacted the German Epson support for some minor technical issue because in their handbook and on the website they talk about their great support a lot.

The Epson employee was not really helpful or supportive (or friendly!) and finally told me I should just listen to what our dealer tells us because unlike the Epson people they had actually received some sort of training for the SC-F2000...

If this is the kind of support we are about to receive from Epson, it makes me kind of nervous...

By the way, what would probably help in cases like this is to make sure that these things get enough public awareness by word-of-mouth, online (there are hardly any search results for problems with the SC-F2000), on trade fairs etc. As soon as profits and image are at stake, Epson might start to think about their approach.

This is a good question. What is the problem?

Although there is an obvious 'fault' with this machine, it's not a bunch of different issues/problems. Just the same problem time and time again. Given a common problem, Epson should be able to create a 'fix' for this or at least give owners access to the consumable that wears out so owners can keep them in stock and replace them when needed.

In my limited opinion it can't be the head. Epson have been making heads for DTG printers for sometime... (I reckon they have that sorted).

I'm hoping this problem will be merely maintenance in a few months time.

Yes Epson have been making heads for a long time, Epson have also been making printers for a long time.

Just thinking out of the square if the DX heads could be used in the F2000, with the lager drop size, would there be problems with the printer?

In my opinion the DX heads do a good for shirt printing.

(Before you comment I do know the DX heads will not work with the F2000)

James, It is really healthy to question this. My concern is the F2000 owners/guinea pigs, are experiencing a 'constant' issue. Do you think it's the head or the supply?

Guinea Pigs, yes for a first garment printer made by Epson.
Guinea Pigs for the print head, no, as the head is used in other Epson printers.

The difference is the F2000 used the TFP head with white ink. Maybe the 3 motion electric wave is just not that good for white ink.

That sounded like something from Red Dwarf.

Epson must have their 'hand on this'. Epson will write this into their F2000 maintenance schedule once they gain feedback from their techs.

I think there is a sludge buildup in the dampers preventing proper ink flow. The heads fire correct after cleaning but after printing a couple of lines the dry up because of starvation. I think Epson should release a software to take the vacuum pressure of the head and let users do a damper replacement. Maybe they can develop a charged ( liquid filled) damper in a sealed container that you can buy as a replaceable item. And be sold at cost price to compensate for the trouble this is causing ( printers down for maintenance and cost of extra cleanings etc) other than this issue I love the printer, haven't got any other problems but a 400$ damper repair every 5 months is unacceptable
I think blaming the suction cap is just a solution by the marketing department to deflect epsons responsibility to the users

I seem to have lost white ink head 4 and half of 3, several head cleanings and nothing. SO I'll be following this post.

i also think the dampers have alot to do with it. would be nice for us to be able to replace them, im not sure but i think these are becoming a year old and shouldnt they have parts available for people that dont extend the warranty? if not that would suck to pay techs to come out everytime to replace parts.
