Default F2000 please talk me out or into buying one

I'm so close to pulling the trigger and buyibuying one. Here are my concerns.

Does it matter if I buy from a local Epson distributor or a company like Equipmentzone or Stahls.

$100-$200 per month on maintenance cost.

You know what they say about the first model release on mosteoporosis products, wait for the 2nd.

Pretreatment machine a must but which is the best.

I've been watching Brother for years. Is it worth $6000 more in cost?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Talk to @JeridHill at Belquette. The man is a fount of information on the Epson. There are better pretreat machines than the brother machine. Viper, edge, or a simple power sprayer to start out

Best thing I can tell you to do is see each one in person.

It all depends where you are located. If you are anywhere near me it is a horrible printer and I would stay far far away from it. In fact I wouldn't even consider this business. But... If you are not near me, then the F2000 is awesome and you can not make a better choice. The guys at Equipment Zone have been great. I was their first SureColor customer and would choose them again without doubt.

Lol funny I'm in San Francisco and there is a reseller out here but not Equipmentzone. If I need maintenance support, etc EZ might be a problem with them being located in the East Coast.

For example I purchased a Versacamm from Stahls many years ago and they did an excellent job coming out, training, and setting up but since they are not based locally service with Stahls is not an option.

Brother doesnt make a pretreat machine. They do make very solid dtg's.

Oops! I meant pretreat options. Got to love answers from tiny phone keys. Brother does have the pretreat paper.

The F2000 has probably been the most successful DTG right out of the chute, minimal problems, what there has been have been due to operator error. As in not doing the small amount of maintenance that is required, clean capping station once a week as required or never doing the tube flush. Epson did extensive beta testing in the field prior to release. Other issues such as printer reset, or ink layering not support are usually caused by a corrupt rip file. Usually caused by communication error, insufficient computer resources, no an XP computer will not work, or a bad or incompatible usb drive. So not really a printer issue. There are over 40 dealers, mol, a lot of these are not familiar with DTG let alone the printer itself. Epson provides all support for the printer so these dealers rely solely on that. Some of your larger DTG specialist dealers will provide a first line of defense prior to having to call Epson along with DTG techniques in general. Others you maybe able to reach on weekends or after hours. The printer itself is so simple to setup, very similar to setting up a desktop printer from Staples, so if you have DTG experience it is a piece of cake. Should u buy a third party rip them a little more concern on training. The once every 30 day tube flush seems bad at first blush but nobody want to mention total ink cost used in maintenance or lost shirts from brand x. Just the fact, verified thru first hand experience, that the printer can set for weeks unplugged, and not have white ink issues is awesome. Especially if your business model is print a few days a week the a break them print. The free training and setup offered by dealers maynot be so free, tech time is free but you may find that it does not include travel expenses. Good Luck.

Service for the printer comes from epson and not the dealer, any dealer. With EZ they flew their trainer out to my shop and it made a world of difference in getting things set up. I got the Speed Treater from them at the same time so it's nice having everything from one source. It is an awesome pretreat machine. Just a few feet from all my electronics but I never worry about the mist. Dial a shirt in and every one is the same. You are welcome to call me to discuss. No, I am not a paid spokesman. Just a working stiff learning as I go.

I have had my Epson for about 4 weeks now...had an Anajet Sprint for 3 years. This machine has performed exceptionally well. Thanks to some great training and guidance from Randy (Spiderx1) this has been an excellent step forward for my business at this time. Feel free to contact me if you have other questions.

Believe there are some great positives for the Epson

I was very fortunate to connect with a sales team (Randy, Eric and Pete from AA) that took time to understand my business plan and help me make a selection that worked the best for my company.

Propose that you will want to compare the right information with what is your real business plan. Do you print 8+ hrs per day 7 days a week or do you print 6 hrs for 3 or 4 days a week ? I believe that makes a big difference on what direction you might want to go.
1. what is their REAL monthly maintenance routine and costs
2. how often does their machine do automatic head cleaning.
3. How often do you have to flush the lines – for real-do not accept almost never..what is really recommended to keep the machine running good
4. If you get air in the lines..do you have to do an ink charge..what will that cost you
5. If you do not print every day and the ink sets and settles in the lines (turn blueish)..how much ink do you have to push through the lines to get good solid white again
6. Can you flush only the white ink or do you have to flush/purge all ink at the same time
7. How many test prints will you need to do to get all the settings right so you get a good print and all the colors right
8. How much time do you need to spend each day maintaining the printer
9. How much time do you need to spend each week doing weekly maintenance
10. How much time do you need to spend each month doing monthly maintenance.
11. You may also want to ask about how are repairs performed, can you make the repairs or do you have to send it back to them. if you have to send it back to them how long will you be without your machine. This was the factor the caused me to purchase a new DTG...my business plan could not tolerate being without my printer for 4 to 5 weeks---

For me I will spend less money on the Epson than I did on my prior DTG printer each month for maintenance (this is REAL DOLLARS – not projection) .....so for me that is a bargain. I realize that will not be true for everyone. I agree and have heard several of the sales pitches about how much lower another companies maintenance is...but the truth is behind the scenes and understanding all the costs in DTG printing.

A few things that I like about my Epson – The nice part about Epson is that it is all very up front on what the costs will be each month
1. I shut it off when not in use…so no automatic print head cleans running ink down the drain,
2. It does ink re- circulation on start up
3. Each print comes out good the first time
4. I understand the maintenance costs
5. I understand that the ink costs may be a little higher than some others…but it is now pennies differences per print
6. I just did a white ink replacement and shut the printer off for a week…it was a very simple process.
– I am actually using less ink for the same quality of print from Epson with my Neorip than I was with my first DTG.
(yes I am detailed enough to weigh my cartridges before and after).

I do believe there are several other GREAT brands of DTG printers and great distributors. There are two other Epson Distributors that post on the forum and have helped me a lot even though I did not buy from them. I went with the Epson as it was the best fit for my business plan.

The fun in DTG printing is back...really enjoying printing again...

I bought an F2000 for similar reasons as mentioned, but I haven't bought NeoRIP because my enquiries to NeoFather lack basic customer service. Who else from AA can answer questions concerning your RIP?

Cheers, customer service on me...

Mark, What was your enquiries? I am sorry I missed yours. It is first time I heard I was bad on customer service.(maybe I am but I don't remember when was the last time).

I am semi-retired. I do not go to work. I own AA (USA)and Aeoon(Austria) company. My son Justin runs AA 95% and doing very well. TSF is my favorite play ground along with Golf & travel because I have so much time and love to make friends here. It is 6am. Sign of old man. Lol.

Long story short. Visit NeoFlex area and find who I am please. I will never put one customer/friend behind and ignore question intentionally. Totally not my style AA would never survived if I am who you think I am
Please kindly ask me again and I will forward your message to TIGERS or sales team if I cannot handle it.
Cheers! Beers are on me always.

PS: Even ask to Roy about AA. Roy who is writing bible for F2000.
