I would be pissed too. Early adopter or not discounting the price in less than a year for one month only and then raising it back up? This is how consumer or retail works with elastic and inelastic demand but in B2B?

Yet another reason not to go with Epson.

We are talking about Basic of business.
Big demand price goes up. Low demand and competitions? Price going down.
How can we call ourselves business person without have this basic?
There are two ways to understanding. One is after answer present "I know that" Two is "using knowledge of understanding".
Their biggest competitor Brother offered many incentives to End Users. Epson decide to give Brother a counter punch. And EPSON Rebate system is very well known of EPSON's marking tool.
I knew it will happen soon all along.
Total benefit

So what is reselling value? Under/around $10,000 is my guess.
Don't pull your hair (who paid full price). Before pulling your hair ask yourself "how much did I make so far" Wise move and business move.
Car is same. I paid full price not penny less for 2014 new model with understand price will go down.
Clothe at department store is same. We know all well.
Even supermarket meat is same.
Sale is sale. Seller have many reasons why. No one want to sell at low. Are you? Unless have to. But time to time we have to sell low. Right?
Not much to blame EPSON. Good company. I had to lower price many times also in order to meet market.
Real question is Will it go down more? LOL. This is real business skill to have. Prediction. I know the answer
Cheers! Beers/inks are on me always.

Also what are the brother incentives?

Dear Valleyboy..This forum is here to help others by sharing experience & information; not being rude or demeaning. If I were Rodney, you'd be banned from the forum. I hope he feels the same. Oh, & the same goes for Royster for "liking it."

Dear Mike,

Valleyboy knows what this forum is for, but if someone calls me out, Valleyboy will responds. Now the person I was speaking to (not you by the way) knows that it is more about rivalry (Mich vs OSU), then anything personal. You however wouldn't know that, but since I wasn't speaking to you in the first place, why don't you do yourself a favor and exclude yourself from my conversation. I've been helpful plenty of times on this forum and received plenty of help on this forum. So please refrain from using "valleyboy" name when you are typing, please. Thank you sir, and please have a wonderful and properous day. Alrighty then.

I knew it will happen soon all along.
Total benefit
$2000 rebate.
$1000 to person who go through Bank, lease.
$1300 free ink.
$4300 total.
Make purchase price @$14695. Good deal. If you buy never inked Demo it will be extra benefit. Who has inventory? Call around.
Train is free but tech's travel cost is on buyer.
So what is reselling value? Under/around $10,000 is my guess.

LOL, well I also got a demo unit that was not yet used. I should have waited. I haven't been making enough money to justify it yet. We mainly do screen printing.

Bottom Line, I need to just buy used. I always kick myself when I go and pay full price for the next best thing. Even just the free ink cartridges is something that we should have been "given".

Sucks.

I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers but I don't understand how this is anything new.

A product launches and people who "camp out" will pay top dollar. Wait a few months and the prices usually settle at the proper spot.

How is this news? We have seen this happen countless times with pretty much every "must have" item.

Only thing you could do is contact Epson and offer your opinion. They may decide to give you some type of discount or freeby on a new order.

I can imagine the pain felt by the OP. Yes, rebates and special offers happen in all industries but this CLOSE to the recent launch? That's rare. Certainly not a great way to treat the early adopters if some form of rebate isn't made available to them.

That was my thought exactly, the fact there the rebate came out about 3-4 months after the launch makes me feel a bit uneasy. 1. they are not selling as many as other DTG equipments. 2. the Equipment was over priced from the start?

I could understand if the price dropped a year or so from now, but after only 3-4 months is a cause for concern for me. Although I wish I could have gotten that extra set of ink...

Still I'm happy with my equipment. Just a little bum that I missed out on such a great deal!
