You'll find the topic being discussed on quite a few threads on the Forums.

You can have 2 different brand shirts with different fabric material and one will print fantastic and, with the exact same settings and ink laydown, the other brand will print very poorly. You can see that can also apply to pretreating the shirt. If its a cheap fabric on a shirt you can use up to double the amount of pretreat to get coverage and still get a bad print.

2x1 ribbed tanks will be very hard to get the type of results you are getting when printing on t-shirts. I would suggest finding a 1x1 ribbed tank or even a "jersey" style tank. (Jersey as in the fabric type..not the brand - Jersey fabric is just like what's used on tshirts)

Sheer rib tanks is okay?

I have noticed many women's tanks are ribbed. I haven't tested printing on any Rib tanks. Women's tanks tends to be ribbed or 5% spandex. I would assume the ink would crack once the shirt is stretched, since women's tanks have a tighter fit (stretch)
