Guess Epson is playing it safe and making sure that quality support is being offered for their printers. Smart thing for any dtg company with dealers to do.

It's my understanding we will still be the front-line support whereas the truly "technical" issues that might surface would be handled by Epson themselves.

That makes sense since most front line problems will be software settings, driver settings and basic install configuration. If the printer is designed well hardware-wise, the majority of service needs will be setup or basic maintenance -- retailer training will matter.

Even if the printer is built like a rock someone will manage to screw something up. Well trained users can also commit rookie mistakes. So from what I'm gathering if user has a clogged head and needs help replacing it, Epson will be the one handling it and not the dealers? Will Epson be the one selling the parts as well?

Epson will be handling all non-maintenance services and parts. The cap, filters and printhead fabric rollers are all serviceable by the customer, everything else must be done through a certified Epson technician, not dealer.

Should make dealers jobs a lot easier. It will be an interesting first year.

With the front line support being the dealer means not just anyone can sell.

If there are class whole Tigers will be there to certified. But it does not look like it will happening. Having back up will never hurt. Incase? In DTG world incase equals often, lol. Incase is same as Emergency Survival Kit.
Cheers! Inks are on me always.

No dealers will be able to be certified technicians for at least the first year, then any training would also extend that time.

I'll bet after first year Epson will have no problem with dealers being the go to techs for all issues.

You could just rely on end user to just figure everything out like when DTG first started lol. I think this is exciting to see DTG come from an infant and now growing stages. I will sit and watch and see what happens. Maybe next time I am in Brazil fixing a DTG and finish a long job I will sit and think where it will go next. Hope all will be well with the printer. I am still sold on Peter 's burgers, dangit Peter I want my burger shirt lol. Next show I will eat your burger shirt But don't force me because I may want to eat the Superman one instead.

@ Jerid make me a Parrot shirt, I want one that talks to you if you press a button. Feel me lol
