with silicone there is a problem after so many but you're right, kraft paper from Stahls is very good

messes up an image??? i've been doing DTG since 2008, and never has a wrinkled paper messed up an image! also, if you cut your paper to fit just inside the edges of your heat press platen, it won't wrinkle as quickly/badly. i've gotten many, many uses out of the silicon and regular parchment papers. Kraft paper from Stahls is the best i've used, and i have hundreds of uses out of a single sheet.

i've never noticed a difference when i've hovered versus not hovering. i guess if the ink is still "pooled" on the shirt, but that's a separate issue. heavy pressure to dry pretreat, light pressure to cure the ink. my cure pressure is just heavy enough to have the heat plate make contact with the shirt.
Why are you not using a Teflon sheet attached to the heat press so you don't need to replace paper?

Probably to not have to clean it every print, PT sticks a lot to teflon.

2 main reasons why i don't use a Teflon sheet to cure my ink.

1) the end result is a shiny print, and i don't care for that look.
2) any minor movement or shifting of the Teflon sheet will cause smudges or other imperfections since the ink is still wet when it comes off the printer. the other sheets don't contribute to this problem as badly.

Kraft paper from Stahls is, by far, the best paper i've used.

As far as I know, the March 17th date is not set in stone. This was implied by someone but never stated by our rep. If another rep is stating this to their resellers, I'm not sure, but I would suggest March 17th as a tentative date until someone states a rep in fact confirms this.

I am new to DTG, from the screen printing world... I have been having great prints recently. The paper leaves wrinkles lines in the image and it sometimes makes the colors off.

can you send me a link to the paper you use from Stahls?

BTW I was told today the EPSON Printers are shipping the week of March 17th. HOOOORAY!

Epson says 2 to 3 weeks...which was said 2 or 3 weeks ago. LOL

I would rather them wait and make things perfect than to rush it out to dealers and then there is issues.

@Dekay317, Based on a conversation I had with Epson on my way back from lunch, Stahls' will be shipping printers on Thursday of this week.

That's awesome news Bill!! I know a lot of people are very anxious to get their hands on one...2014 is going to be strong year for DTG I think.

Just an FYI, the Kraft paper seems to stick to Epson's ink...not sure what the situation is but Quilon seems to be the best solution for now. Teflon works really well too but you get more sheen and a different texture to the print.
