Default How is this printer?

I wanted to buy a Brother Gt-3 DTG printer.
Now I just see this new Epson.
How is this printer? Has anyone saw it in trade shows? It looks more compact than the GT-3 and inks look cheaper.
The drawback it's that usually Epson aren't serviceable by users. Need to change a wiper? Call the tecnician.
What is your impression? Should I postpone my GT-3 buying and think about this F2000?

The printer hasn't been released to the public yet. I have seen it at a couple tradeshows and it seems to be a very intuitive design with great build quality. It has the best warranty in the industry so you shouldn't need to do any service yourself for many years!

I see you're from Italy. The Epson F2000 was just introduced at the SGIA Expo in Orlando in the US last month. It was one of the highlights of the show. The Epson warranty in the US for this printer is very impressive but might be different in other countries. You may want to see if Epson has a distributor now for this printer in Italy and contact them directly.

Well, for warranty, in Italy (and Europe, i guess), all vendors, including modified epson DTG printers, offer 1 year of warranty (that's because they are required by law, not because they feel generous )

I have a surecolor sc-t7000 and, while the design it's very solid, it's not serviceable at all. You can't manually clean the printhead or change wipers like you can do on a Roland solvent plotter (I also have that)
I bought the sc-t7000 after seeing it at last year trade show in milan and the initial firmware bugs were awful - including the one who wasted $300 of inks - suddenly it did a channel cleaning!!!!
The technician in warranty said this was a known issue (now fixed with a march 2013 firmware update), but epson italy refused to refund me the ink

The Epson F2000 was designed to be user serviceable. The capping assembly is very easily changed out. There is a unique printhead felt wiper assembly which advances fresh wiper material as it wipes the bottom of the printhead. The printer was beta tested at several production shops before being introduced.
