Default Setting Up the Epson SureColor F2000

There are two printers to choose from. They are both identical, except the way you set it up. You cannot change it once it's set up either. Dual CMYK or CMYK with White. Be sure to pick the one you want, because there is no going back!

One interesting note is that Epson has priced the Standard Edition (dual CMYK) and the White Edition at the same price. You do need to choose which type you want since, as pointed out, they are not changeable afterwards.

This business model make no sense, why would I buy a printer without options?

The CMYK only machine doesn't have the provisions for the White ink circulating system that have implemented. (So I have been told)

I asked Larry specifically about this subject and he said the machines are identical inside and out. There is a circulating system still on the color version.

So why is the problem of inkset switching then?

Ohh...very interesting. I thought that was the "only" difference. So what is to stop someone from converting it to CMYK-W?

It's probably the firmware that is loaded. Most likely no one will have access to the firmware itself, not allowing the switch-over. I'm not sure of the reasoning, but controlling what type of system it is would be better in the support system.

So as I said before - changing the mainboard should be a workaround then.

Sure, but I'd be willing to bet you couldn't get your hands on a main board. All repairs and service will need to be performed by an authorized Epson technician. It would be quite a long time before even possibly getting something like that in your hands. The first year, the new owner isn't even allowed to open up their system. If they do, they would void the warranty. You can also buy an extended warranty up to three years, so I think main boards will be scarce even on used machines.

If you are busy shop it will be good to have one of each. But I don't see many will purchase CYMK model. By AA record on NeoFlex % is less 5%, while light shirt orders are usually more than dark. I am sure Epson knows what they are doing. I will ask Epson tomorrow to OK to share manual/full to public also a full price list. Why release bit and pieces? I do not get it.
Part number and cost and all. I am sure it will be ok. There are no secret and no big deal for share to all Tsf members. IMHO. No knowledge No secret No Special are acting as something looks really funny. 22 pages. Tomorrow .

Too many Red(oranges), I like dark, soft or pastel color. Flashy, not me~.
Cheers! Beers are on me always. From Puerto Rico.

Yes, the white capable unit will be by far be the most sought after. It is good that Epson provided the option for dual CMYK, but I doubt there will be a lot of sales for it.

Peter, by releasing in bits and pieces, I suspect maybe they wish to build excitement for it while they continue to work on things.
