They were also quoting the price of $320 per liter for the ink...from what I heard (maybe it was $300). Either way it was expensive in comparison.

The Epson F2000 Printer inks will be only sold in cartridges. 2 different cartridge sizes.

Any normal pretreat works, Kornit's, no way. Epson appears to be selling their ink direct only not using 3rd party to sell, price is 239$ for 600ml. Any use of non oem inks voids the warrant, no surprise. I was there when ET ask if they would try their newly branded Firebird inks, the answer was a resounding, will never happen! However until these really see some field use its hard to say real world print cost including cleanings etc.

Erka,
I am not sure yet on who you are except you have lots of interest on Epson. You should send resume to Epson.
Very interesting individual you are.
Cheers! When we meet beers will be there and those are on me.

The inks for the new Epson F2000 Garment Printer will be only sold through the dealers that have been selected to sell the printer.

There has been great curiosity on the prices of the new Epson inks. The Epson F2000 ink cartridges are available in two sizes. As mentioned, the 600ml cartridges are $229.95 each for either yellow, black, magenta, cyan or white inks. The 250ml cartridges are $119.95 each for the colors and white.

I checked out the Epson DTG for dark shirts at SGIA. They had a sample print that was I assume their color range that they can reproduce. You would figure that they have the resources of Epson and have taken a long time to jump in the game and the results would be phenomenal. The red in the print looked not bright and too orange. I looked no further. Sample prints were not impressive either.

Rick, the reason the Epson printer isn't shipping until late January is they are still updating the firmware and software. It's in development and we should start seeing very good gain.

I just saw the video of the printer printing on darks, I really like the smaller footprint, and the results look stellar to me. This would be an excellent choice for me.

The output quality of the printer will only get better as time gets closer to first deliveries.

I keep hearing about several different rip developers working on a rip? So will Epson be using one of these rips or will it be like a brother no rip style program.. just curious but there being so many dealers on the new Epson if each dealer is allowed to sell there own rip which I don't see why not, this would certainly set the dealers apart even being the same machine! as we all know with the other Epson printers there are better rips than others which will greatly influence the output quality and possibly direct more sales to a particular dealer with the best rip???

Hi Jeff, it's a great question and one I don't have an answer to! That being said, the first thing that comes to mind is whatever RIP Epson chooses, they will support. If we, as dealers, begin introducing different RIPs, we will have to service them 100% and Epson won't. I'm not so sure that's a bad thing, but the reality is, as a reseller, there isn't enough money built into the price for us to be able to give away a free RIP and support it without charging. It's a catch 22 and one that might slow us down from offering such deal, but only time will tell. I'll be sure to ask this question of Epson and see their stance on it.

When speaking to Larry, the senior Epson rep at SGIA, I ask about the rip, his answer was that the Epson comes with a driver that acts as a minimal rip, he said it really was not a rip but an art program/driver. He also stated that there would be several 3rd party after market rips for the printer.
