This should be in your manual, but it should be something like that. I don't have our machine to go along with it and I don't have the manual on this computer.

You don't clean the heads with this liquid, you clean the caps on the capping station. You would do this once per week.

- sorry maybe that was the other thread
I've always understand this to mean X parts to X Parts, so a 1:3 would be 1 part pretreat and 3 parts water, or 4 parts total.

Of course, this is how I've understood it and I could definitely have misunderstood this throughout the years.

and I think we agree on the 1.3

I will find the manual so I can turn the noisy fan/machine off

I do recall it was something like choosing the printer setup on the printer panel then scroll down to the auto clean on startup or something like that. It should be pretty simple to thumb through it.

I can't find anything called start up at all.... closest is "printer setup" -> "Power on cleaning" ->"white ink" -> and then the attached window where I can choose on/printing/off ...do you recall if that is it ? I will try to find my manual

With Image Armour there is no window, so to much is not a problem, Epson appears to be similar in nature but testing would be smart. Dupont however had a very small window and to much would produce poor washability. Remember both IA and Epson are very different chemically.

I am going to test next week, I ordered both Image Armour for dark and light and have Epson as well. My first roll on pretreatment t-shirt didn't do so well after 2 washes, but I need to test more systematically.

Are you spraying on the pretreatment or rolling it on with a roller?

I think I will be rolling, I don't really have space for spraying all over

I think you will see much much better results if you spray the pretreatment on.

Ok, but why? don't I need to roll after spraying anyway ?

I am just out of space with all my printers and I don't want pretreatment on everything so I think i have a problem with spraying....rolling seems more "clean"

May be cleaner, but you will have an incredibly difficult time getting the correct amount applied. Brother originally told customers to roll the pretreatment on, but very quickly realized that was a bad idea.

I realize the epson manual talks about rolling but my experience is that is a poor technique. Make yourself a little spray booth. but you are right if you are spraying in the same room as the printers the over spray will get on your other items. Consider a brush or a vinyl application squeegee vs a roller. I like the paint brush technique, it lays the fibers down and pushes pretreat into the shirt. If you push to hard on the squeegee it pushes the pretreat down the shirt.

Is there a particular brush that works better than others for laying down the fibers? Or just a plain soft paint brush would do?
