Default keyboard covers for covid 19

I have implemented a hand washing rule before anyone touches the keyboards on our tajima embroidery machines at the start of a job.

My question is- what can I cover the keyboards with to add further protection without affecting the keyboard input at the beginning of each job. Something disposable.

Don't worry about it. If the UK is anything to go by (I live in the UK) then you will soon be shutting down your machines and closing shop.

if you can't get latex gloves find nitrile disposable gloves for tattooing. They are a little bit more money then latex ones, but they are more durable.

I got some from drug store and I got some from a place which carries equipment for ''workers''(like wrenches and stuff). Check protective gear for workers.

Sarin wrap/cling film. Can be replaced at regular intervals.

Thanks for the saran wrap idea. We went and bought some, used a large sheet and tightened it up in the back and taped it. So far so good. I just think this is a huge potential for picking up germs from one person's hands to another. There are no gloves local to me, but we are checking online. I appreciate every ones input. The saran wrap is doable.

Well, you would still have to replace the saran wrap after every use. Otherwise, no better than typing on the keypad directly.

My vote would be to use alcohol or clorox wipes before each use.

that is what i was wondering, what is the point of a semi-permanent cover?
unless each person has their own...

even gloves make little sense, as most people leave them on long enough to touch their face
(2000 times a day, pretty much every 30 secs for 16 waking hours)

One person, one machine, one room is the only safe way through this.

I believe the new mantra is: 'Six feet apart or six feet under.'

Your choice.

We are wiping down everything with alcohol such as hoops, scissors and all surfaces. I wiped down the keyboards with alchohol and my husband cautioned me by suggesting I could be damaging them. That is why I reached out to you for suggestions.
We are changing the saran wrap between operators and hand sanitizing so much our hands look like crap.
Didn't think about the thread!! Damn!
