Exclamation New to Embroidery

Hello everyone, I'm new here trying to find recommendations for the best choice of embroidery machine within the range $4-7k. either new Chinese brand or refurbished (used) Japanese brand.

we already in printing t-shirt business but trying to get into the ebroidery world and sell locally.

Brand new Tajima is $17k at least, which is too much to start with such a machine.

I'm looking to find a reliable, easy to work on at an affordable price.

any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Look on both Craigs List and check with the leasing companies. There are a lot of late model used machines out there. For that price you are looking at a 9 needle but that is ok, it gets you into the game. You really need to save your pennies from revenue from this machine and go to a 4 or 6 head so you can make some real bank. You can't make money on a single head but you can upgrade when you get customers. You will find this out when you get your first order for 500 hats with 2 locations and have to do it on a single head.

Before you buy you will need to know you also need supplies, figure about 10-20 percent of your purchase cost.

What are your plans for digitizing? The software is more than the machines. If you send it out, know the cost is anywhere from $50 to $300 for a good digitizer per design.

Are you mechanically inclined? I hope so, these things need maintenance on a daily, weekly, monthly, 3 month, 6 month and annual basis.

Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Thank you for all this information it will really help me during our search. We have a supplier who can provide us with whatever we need. And we have a source for digitizing designs in a reasonable price.

The challenge now is to find a well-known brand at a good price.
Thanks again and have a good one
