what is the difference between a 4 thread overlock and a 5 thread. What should I use for cut and sew hockey/baseball jersey.thanks

Hmmm. I think you need to really learn a lot more about this before investing into a cut & sew operation.

I think 5 thread is for cover stitch...

If you are doing sports performance I think you want to do flatlock.

Really nailing this so you have something you can sell, is not something you can learn in a few weeks.
