Default ISS Atlantic City

I posted this in trade shows but got no response. Since we are interested in the embroidery part of the show I thought I'd try here.

We usually go the NBM show but are thinking about going to the ISS Show at AC. Anyone have any comments on the show quality?

My understanding is this show has more embroidery related vendors than any other show. Can anyone confirm that? We've been looking at a new 4 head for our shop and thought this would be a good way to see most the machines we are looking at.

We've gotten some good deals at the NBM shows, I'm guessing it's the same here?

ISS at AC is the show I try to hit every year. There are usually a good number of embroidery vendors. I feel like I usually see tajima, barudan, zsk, brother, melco, and there are usually a couple others. It might be worth checking out the show website for the list of vendors attending though.
I can't confirm whether there's more embroidery at this one though as its my usual fare. I can say that I feel that, as a business primarily focused on embroidery, it is a worthwhile show to go to.

Can you cover it in two days or would you recommend more? I have the vendors list as well as the class schedule. I read they combined this show with the PPAI East show, although that's not our business I wouldn't mind looking around also.

2 days is good. Ppai brought a lot of vendors in, effectively doubling the show size. There's some good stuff over there.

I've attended ISS AC for about 15 years. It was big when I first started then it decreased in size but the last few years its increased. I haven't attended other shows so I can't make any comparisons. I believe its the second biggest ISS show. As suggested I would check the specific vendor information to see what brands will be represented. In the past all the popular brands have been there. I believe the show is more for embroiderers but there will be plenty of other vendors there too. You can get show specials especially on the last day.

I always enjoy attending. Its a great way to keep up on new garment styles. Since the Promotions EAST show will also be there its a great opportunity for decorators who may want to add promotional products to their business.

I just received a postcard saying that Seth Godin will speak at Expo East (ticketed event) on Thursday of ISS week. He's a well-known marketing person.

We enjoy this show and find it profitable. Some vendors will give you a promo code when you visit them.
We bought our last machine from the show. We didn't buy the floor model, but just asked for a price, then asked what are they doing for a show promotion and we got free shipping.
I agree, it has improved lately.
We do go to classes each year also.
Last year we stayed at the Claridge. Nostalgic and quiet.

Ceasars is the closest casino. I haven't stayed there though. AC can be cold and windy mid March so you might want to keep that in mind when booking.

Thanks to having a Casino host which comps us a suite and RFB (Room, Food & Beverage) for our stay... I go to the show every year since I started this business back in 2007. Initially the show was smaller but does seem to grow in size. Doing all the days and taking in a seminar or two... I still dont seem to have enough time. lol Even when I try to make a plan it never works out for me. But overall I love doing the show. There's usually a good amount of equipment on display and ready to be run a demo with. Im friends with some of my suppliers so im at their booths a little longer... Vastex, M&R and others.

Back to your original post... Purchasing embroidery equipment at the show... Awesome Idea!

Bring a thumb drive or two with you with a couple of files... DST and vector files. Give the DST files to the vendors you are interested in and have them do a sew out right on the machine at the show. oddly enough you will find just about each machine will output your file differently... and this way you can see first hand what you will get based on whatever is set-up for the show. Some will tweak their system and show you what they do to achieve different results. That is what I did when buying our first machine. I ghot 5 different samples... some obviously better than others. Its funny how some of teh poorly performing machines manufacturers will say that the file has the problem and you cant get any better... meanwhile you get a sample a lot better.. a lot tighter stitching etc a few booths away utilizing the same file. thats whats great about getting samples done at the show.

Do the same with your vector files... having the digitizing software vendors digitize your file. Dont bring a huge file... something that can be done rather quickly and right in front of you... maybe a 3 X 3" design. This way you get to see their software in action and can choose what is best for you regarding features and results.

If you have not already set up reservations... and if you are driving... check out Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club. They are about 10 minutes from the convention center... but they beat any price in the area and the resort is amazing!!!! They have a special winter deal too... so what you will pay for a room at the Sheraton or casino for a basic room... you can have a suite with free "REAL" breakfast for two. By real I mean with eggs your way... frosted flakes covered french toast and more. LOL

They also have a restaurant on property and also have an incredible breakfast buffet. I think they are pet friendly too and lilke most hotels offer discounts for various organizations and first responders and vets etc.

I will be at Harrah's. Thats where I play and dine when in AC. My host Jerome is a great guy... so if you play a lot.. be sure to reach out and and try to get a host like Jerome to take care of ya.

The ISS AC show was one of my favorite shows of the year. Maybe second only to the Long Beach ISS show in January.

Lots of vendors, a good number of people and great food nearby
