Question Flag Fabric (Flabric;)

Hi. I want to try making some festival/camping flags. Any advice on what type/weight/finish of fabric to use. It should fly well => lightweight, not take on too much water (I'm in the UK lol). I've done some tests on polyester lining cloth with a satin finish and the colo(u)r uptake is great.. The only problem is that it's too thin to print both sides without the otherside showing through. I've toyed with reversing the image but that doesn't really work too well with text ! Any thoughts please let me know. Maf

Default Re: Flag Fabric (Flabric;)

I've been making my own garden flags lately. At first I found some 80/20 polyester cotton curtains at Goodwill (originally from Target). But I didn't like how they looked after I sewed them with a front and a back. Now I use heavier polyester I found at JoAnn's, but I only print on one side. If you want to print on two sides, you will need to make them two sided and probably sublimate each side before sewing them together unless you can figure out what to put in the middle so they don't bleed through.

SK Print, in O'Fallon, Mo. does sell the 2 sided garden flags for sublimation. Here's the link to all of their flags https://www.skprint.com/products.cfm?category=Flags. They did 2 sided flags for me and were really nice. I used them for a fundraiser for a not-for-profit group that I belong to, but unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of them.

Coastal business has the car flags, but I couldn't find anyone else who made garden flags.
