Question Epson WF1100 - high and standard capacity...

Okay now I'm a little confused with the Epson WF1100 cartridges. There seems to be a high capacity and standard capacity cartridge. I assume the high capacity gives you more ink, but does it really give you more?

I'm buying this kit .:: Cobra Ink Systems::. This is where the term CIS began want to know what difference there really is in the high and standard carts.

Another thing I noticed was a 4 or 5 cart setup with 2 different blacks. Another assumption of mine is, because this is suppose to be a 4 color printer you would have to switch the two blacks?

The high capacity refillables do give you more ink, I think it is 50% more than the standard.

On the WF1100 (I have one) the 2 black carts are using the same exact inks. You don't switch them out. So 5 carts total. The extra black cart is for when you do a lot of regular office printing which is typically black text.

Question Re: Epson WF1100 - high and standard capacity...

Im still confused?!? When I go to the Epson website it says the printer only has 4 inks. What's going on with the 5th one? Is it required? Optional?

It has 2 black tanks exactly the same. You have to have both tanks installed for the printer to work. It's simply a way for the printer to hold more black ink, since it's sold as an "office" printer where people will be printing more text documents than photos or other graphics.

The new 7010 has one extra-large tank instead of double tanks.
