Default The DTG Viper

I Just want to tell everyone that i saw the DTG VIPER at the show and it is one of the most sleek machines i have ever seen. I took my own design at the show so the saleman could print them out right there and the designs came out great. Without adjusting them too much to me they looked great.

The machine is not slow in printing about 6 minutes for a 14x16 image full color with white underbase on Black tshirt and about 60 sec. on a white tshirt.

The Rip Pro software does calculate $ amount of ink being printed.

While there i asked them alot of Q&A the system is self cleaning and something about a swirling pressurized ink system that doesn't let the ink settle

The Price is 18,995 at the show

I think they convinced me to buy this machine.

Hope People Can Use This Info.

Hello Rick,

I confirm Your experience - The DTG Viper the best T-Shirt printing machines on the World in this time.
Except the printing size the HM1 Kiosk also very-very good machine - without any problem - the white ink never dryed, the head never clogged due to DTG patent WIMS.
The PrintPro RIP software mutch better like the Fast Rip. So the VIPER with the revolute conveyor system and with the pressurized ink system simply the best deal. The 18,995$ very good price - in Europe cost 17,200 EUR ( user price with starter kit, warranty)

Hi Rick, can you tell me please, how did you see the registration of that machine?

Was the white underbase really well aligned under the CMYK layer?

Did you see the results repetable?

A good and repetable registration is my obsession with a garment printing machine, as I've seen some problems regarding this on some machines in the near past.

Thanks and best regards,
Robert.

First off, thanks for the great report Rick. A little clarification on the ink system. The new WIMS circulation system does not do auto head cleanings like the eraly versions of the WIMS did. Instead it circulates the white ink in a loop, filtering it on each pass and stirring it periodically in the container. The color inks (CMYK) are pressurized to deliver consistent ink flow as well. Add to this the Active Print Head Collision Protection (APCP) and Positioning Encoder Protection (PEP). If nothing else the Viper leads the direct to garment market in Acronyms!

Hi, Robert 72,

The align by VIPER possible to set under software. If the color printing shifted anyway - due to delivery, or printhead replace - You can align less than 10 min.

Well i did see some white underbase on the edge of the designs i provided but this was due to my design flaw being at the show they were trying to get to all different people but with doing no touch up on my designs the initial result was good, but the underbase showing was only problematic with one of the designs the rest came out quite good ( at least to me )

Yes the result was repeatable, as a matter fact the tech who helped me asked if he could print one of my designs for himself to wear and he did print out two shirts one for me and him.

well i hope this helps

I have been using the viper for around 6 weeks know, with great results. If you do have white ink alignment problems and are using print pro there is and adjustment which is the the feed adjustment. If any one is using the the new platens or old ones I can send the KLP files which are set for perfect registraton. JUst flick me an email with the platen size and I will be more than happy to help out. I have also been workoing on a pocket platen aet up for it which will be finished next week. It was going to be 6 but we decided to go for 4 as the rest of the shirt has to go somewhere. This has the the hoop system to hold the shirt down. It will be testested to a few days and will handed over to Impressions if all goes well. At this stage I have worked out it will print 4 pocket sized prints 10cm x 10cm in under 60 seconds full clolour on dark shirts. So you will be needing a good curing system to keep up with it.

I would love info on your platens. I am always looking for new ways to do things. Anyways has any had the remove paper error? I have been working on this all day and I am at the end of my rope on this one. First I had a load paper error. Got that fixed not it tells me to remove paper. I really to need to get back up. Can anyone help me.

hi don, let me ask you a question. And let me start by clarifying that i am new to this business so my terminology may not be accurate but i ll try to make my point.

Not to bring up the competition, but the m&r idot has a system where you program it and it automatically does a head clean at a certain time every day. Is this available on the viper ? I think that on the hm1 you have to do manually every day right ? If if you are going to let it sit for 2-3 days your are supposed to flush it?

The reason i ask the question is because i m torn between a viper and an idot. And quite frankly i m leaning towards the viper due to the reviews i have read on the forums.

Also, and i know you cannot give me and exact number, but how much ink is spent every time you do a head clean in terms of money ?
