Which machine do you have? I know how to remove the printhead from the hm1, but not the kiosk as they are a bit different. I know the kiosk has a bar that slides in to hold the printhead, where as the HM1 has 3 screws. Are you pretty mechanically inclined? I would only do it if you are good at taking apart and putting things back together. Did you get the dvd that comes with the machine? I know there is a section on it that shows the removal of the kiosk printhead. Haha go figure that is the dvd I got with my machine, so it was just learning to do it myself If I can help, let me know. How old is your machine? and how long have you had it?

We have a step by step PDF guide to replacing the print head on the Fast T-Jet 2 which can also be used for the Kiosk printer. Just take off your blue cover and start from page 3 of the guide. You can find the download for the guide under the replacement print head listing at dtgkioskparts.com

Haha I was just at your site looking at the PDF Harry That was why I was asking him what machine he has. I was going to refer him to your pdf, if he had the kiosk

I do have the kiosk and have the dvd. I just finished viewing it and doesnt seem that difficult. well i have always enjoyed taking things apart and putting it back together. i thought it would be alot harder but seems fairly simple. just a few screws and that bar you mentioned then you just pull it out and thats all. I might do so early in the morning or on the weekend to soak it in cleaning solution. When I am using the syringe I should be sucking up very slightly and gently and then throwing out the solution in another container correct? should i be adding more solution as I go along or is that 1/4" good enough?

thank you will take a look at that Harry you have become my new friend very helpful and resourceful :-)
I was thinking of soaking my print head to get it ready for when I receive the new cartridge tomorrow. I have never cleaned the actual print head just its surroundings and edges around but not the actual face.
so this will help to maintain it

I got my machine in July of 2008 and have printed basically everyday since even if its just a test print shirt just to make sure everything is running correct. In which I leave it on all the time and usually dont print on weekends, sometimes on saturday but its maybe 1-2 saturdays a month

On the kiosk you can clean it out without removing it at all. If you are carefull. Unplug the printer and use a very shallow and rectangle tray, put in around 4 mm deep of cleanin gfluid and place on the bed then postion the print head over it and wind up the bed so that the the nozzels only sit in the fluid by 2mm - 3mm then suck up gentle. With this you will not get any in the cable or connections if you are carefall and watch excatly how fare it is going in.

You might want to check out the SWF East website, I believe there is documentation explaining just how to do this, maybe even a video.
