Sounds like a loose connection to one of the sensors. Probably a quick fix (probably fixed by the time this is read)

Mate i ahve had a Viper in here for the past week and it is a good machine. It was different from the kiosk but as all new toys you have to get use to them. You will like the viper and have alot of fun with it. Keep in touch and let us know how you go with it all

It seems the viper is getting some good revues I have the HM1, and I myself would not hesitate to get another dtg brand machine, mine has been great.

I can give you a few things to remember to pay attention to in training.

Make sure to make a list of all the things you want to learn, its very important, as you will always forget something if dont

Have them show you how to do maintenance on the machine, such as how to remove and replace the damper, wiper and printhead. You will be glad to know this later.

Make sure to have them go through the rip program with you thoroughly. Bring your own files, and have them demonstrate the different layer types and how to set them up to rip. Have them show you how to validate your software, and how to remove the validation if necessary.

Have them show you the pretreatment process, and have them let you do this as well so you fully understand how to spray the pretreatment, with the right amount.

Have them show you how to align your designs on your platens and the printbed. This was one of the things I forgot to have them do, so it took a little time to get perfect

Well anyways, those are a few of the important things that I can think of right now. Hope this helps

I can confirm that we are seeing very good things out of the Vipers and they have been very well received. Sales are actually outstripping production at this time - typical delivery times are running about 4-5 weeks as of right now. With the void left in the marketplace by the failure of US Screen there are alarge number of potential dtg'ers out there looking for a 4880 based machine from an established distributor. I appreciate all of the feedback from the users in the field on these machines.

our machine has gone back for an upgrade. a ink line came off inside the printer and virtually a whole bottle of ink ran thru the machine and into the electronics inside, suffice to say electronics and ink don't mix so it died.

good think is that dtg shipped a crate over and its gone back for a overhaul and enhancements. cant complain at all about the backup service.

Simon,
Thanks for the update and thanks for being the first one I am aware of to take the Viper "plunge". As with any new machine, there will be hiccups along the way. From what we have seen so far they have been minimal. This machine has been over a year in the making, so we believe we have fleshed out most of the problems that will occur.

To be honest my one has know done well over 2000 prints and is 3 weeks old. At present it hjas been very good and no problems as such. A few minor things that i have picked up and are working closley with Steve so all is good and as said they are a good bunch of blokes who are willing to stand by there product and back it up all the way. Have had no down time at all and all in all very happy with the print quality and running of the machine. As any new piece of equipment it took a day or so to get use to it and know all is second nature to run. I would recomend the Viper to anyone. The kiosks are also a great machine for the price and too also do a good job but the Viper is another leap again for the better. I do know that all involved have put in alot of hours to desing and get this off the ground, they have done a very good job and personally I recon for the money you get alot of machine and a good one at that too.

Out of curiosity, what are your print times on a white and black shirt for a full size graphic?

Viper is Epson 4880 base which is best choice to shirt printing. Printhead speed vs production speeed is total different thing.
You keep mentioning about speed because of your MOD1 but it is Suzuki motor cycle vs Mercedes Benz differences. Since I used same engine I pay attention very closely to Viper now.
