Default Advice?

This might be the wrong forum for this but I am looking for some advice.
I don't normally ask but I'm kinda of stuck making a decision.

I own a very small business. It's two people. We have managed to build a nice little business using just one DTG M2 machine. We have owned it close to four year's now.
We have had some problems over the four year's but overall the machine has been fairly reliable.
This past year though we have had several issues which have caused us to be down several days at a time. This has happened four different times this year.
We we're going to buy a large scale printer and start offering a wider range of products. However with these issues I'm starting to think that owning another machine is possibly the way to go. I really cannot afford to be down for days at a time.

I am not going to hire anybody. I'm gonna work both machines. My issue is that we don't have enough to keep both printers going all the time.
I won't hire anybody. New York state is a nightmare for small business. There's to much involved in hiring an employee.

I'm just not sure though that is wise. I know I need a backup but it's an expensive one. I don't have debt or am willing to lease or borrow so it would be an outright purchase.

I know the DTG M2 very well. I have worked on this machine for several year's now so that is what I'm comfortable with.

Thoughts? Feedback? Does anybody own two machines? Has anybody been or started off this way and expanded? Bought another machine?

There are other options out there that use the same basic components as your m2. So the heads would be interchangeable etc. If you are unsure of spending the 24k on new m2 because of production needs go with a summit xt or something like it at 10k. Also if you have been running a m2 for awhile id like some help. I have an m2 and am trying to get it up and printing. Have a few errors and dont know how to proceed... [email protected] id love to talk to you
