Default M2 print quality

i am experiencing some highlighting/fading/ink starvation? issues while printing on our DTG M2. the Pictures included below show the progressive fading on three different shirts. the "fading" line stays consistent in the same place on the platen, but gets progressively worse with each print.

the encoder strip is clean, nozzle checks are 100%, all of the ink levels are full, zero banding issues...any of you all experience something like this before?
much appreciate!

Does it do it with every file or just this one?

Have you tried rotating the design 180' to see if the fade follows the file?

yes, it does this with other files as well. It seems to be more prevalent with darker profiled designs though.

What happens if you rotate the file 180' - does the fade follow the image or does it stay with the platen? Also, since you say it happens with the darker - you may want to check your black ink pathway - may be time for a new damper.

Rod, did you figure the reason this was happening? I'm having issues with any color that uses magenta and it's super annoying. It's a new printhead, new dampers etc.

slikrick, i am still encountering this problem. i am using "rip pro c5" and i have had the most luck running prints on the highest quality settings. (adjusting/increasing the printhead pass and wave type in the printer options in the Queue Properties) but this eats up production time...
the M2 is EXTREMELY fussy, just topping off your Magenta ink levels can help....after a head clean can you see magenta in the capping station?

don, the fading does not follow the file when i rotate it 180 degrees. the fading stays consistent on the platon like in my pictures.

Hi Rod,

When was the last time you replaced your capping station? If could be caused by an under-performing capping station which is only partially priming the dampers.
