Default Viper 2: Ink catching Strips "wicking strips"

We have had the Viper 2 for a few months now and have been left to solve a lot of our problems on our own. We are having one issue now that we just can't figure out how to go about:

Where the ink cartridges are there those foam-like strips that supposedly help from any ink that drips from the line.. over the past few weeks we have been noticing that they are being pushed back into the machine (mostly happening with the white ink slot, but now happening to the black as well) and when this happens the white ink isn't pulling through as well. it is very dull when printing. We got in there with tweezers and tried to pull it back into place but it just tore apart, so we had to take it out completely.

We spoke with someone from tech support and were told that these are called "wicking strips" and the only thing that they do are catch the dripping ink. They sent us some that they had from a previous printer
(apparently this isn't a part that you can buy, or should have to replace)...

We put the new wicking strip in, and the white ink started pulling through perfectly again. This has happened twice.

Now, again one of the white's wicking strips is starting to push back into the machine, along with the black slots wicking strip. Once these go I'm not sure what to do, because even if it does not effect the ink when printing, I'm sure that it can't be good if ink is dripping into the printer because there is nothing to catch the access ink.

Has anyone else experienced this same issue? or have any suggestions?!

This is a discussion about Viper 2: Ink catching Strips "wicking strips" that was posted in the DTG Brand section of the forums.
