Default HM1 White Alignment Issue

I am having an issue getting the white ink layer and color layer to align. The best is with the choke & feed set to 100 top, 100 bottom, 50 left, and 50 right; but there is still just a slight top line of white showing. Are these setting normal? Is there something else I should look at? Both layers are aligned in the graphic.

Hi BST,

Wow how did you end up with your numbers that high? How far off was your registration? Did you start at -1 in all boxes? I think I can answer this for you once you answer my questions above. The numbers should be way lower then that.

Diffently seems too high to me as well. Also check encoder strip is clean, as well as side wheel ecoder strip. I had this problem once before and found it was simple the encoder strip wheel dirty and was putting it out of registration sligthy.

Yes, started out with them all at -1. Tried adjusting them 5 at a time but it didn't make much difference. Jumped 25 at a time until we got to the current numbers.

Didn't think about the encoder strip or wheel. I've had to clean the wheel before, when the printer left lines in the print. I'll clean both.

Thank you both for your quick response.

Yes definately clean both encoder wheel and strip as this can cause a jump in print. If this doesnt work, I would try reinstalling your rip so that your registration will reset itself. sometimes if it gets really off, reinstalling the rip can sometimes correct this. Those numbers should not be that high, not even close to that. When I got my HM1 I had to adjust mine a little but not much. Mine are at top 2 left 2 bottom -0 and right -0, to give you an idea. I only had to adjust mine adding 1 at a time. each 1 equals one pixel. So 100 is 100 pixels off. That is way too much.

I was wondering if it might not be in the RipPro, since to begin with it was just a few pixels off to the top and changing the choke & feed values didn't seem to move it much.

Make sure you are doing ALL of the following:

From the RIP Pro main screen
Select - PRINTER & INK CONFIGURATION
under Printer select - DTG KIOSK HM-1
Select the CHOKE & FEED ADJUSTMENT tab
Make sure you select the proper Color Ink and White Ink resolutions (as you set the choke for each combination)
Set your Choke amount (the higher the number, the more it will "choke" in that direction)
Click APPLY

Hope this helps!

That version should be fine. Sorry it took so long to respond. Have your tried cleaning the encoder strip and wheel? did it help? If not did you try doing a clean install of the rip pro?

SunnyDayz & All,

I clean all, yet haven't had a chance to try it. Several non-white jobs to run. Also talked to the Techs at Mesa and they sujest downloading the newest RipPro, so I'll try that too. As soon as I try a test print I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

yea you can download the newest version at the forums for dtg. If your not a member yet, you might want to make sure to get a invitation number from mesa, because you have to call them and get that before you can join. Let us know how it goes
