Current DTG inks (except for Kornit) prefer the use of heat press. However there are several new inks that are being developed for use in a tunnel dryer but nothing has been perfect yet...it's only a matter of time before it happens and is the standard.

Cheers for your feed back...

I trying to us less white ink so to give as close a screen print finish as possible. Seems to be what customers here in the UK prefer.

I hover for about 60sec and then apply medium pressure so not to get that plastic feel/finish.

Hello,

We've had The Viper 2 for a couple of months now and have had many issues that we've been left to figure out on our own. We've been able to troubleshoot a lot of them but we have one that we can't seem to understand.

Where the ink cartridge's are there is that little piece of foam that apparently catches the ink that doesn't make it through the line.. Those seem to be breaking and we find that they are being pushed back into the machine a bit as well. We have taken tweezers to try and pull them forward but they end up falling apart and we have to throw them away all together.

We spoke to tech support and we were told that these were called "wicking strips"
The odd part is that this happens mostly with the white and when this does happen the white ink does not seem to pull through very well. Tech support told us that it only catches ink and should have nothing to do with the white ink not showing up very vibrant.

They sent us a couple of wicking strips from an old printer they had (because apparently this isn't a part that you can actually buy, and isn't something you should have to replace)
We put the new wicking strips in, and the white ink started working again.
Now the black is starting to go. and one of the whites broke off and we do not have a strip in there at all. Even if this is just to catch the ink, is it bad if there is no strip in there to do so?

Has anyone else had this same issue? We are not sure what to do once these strips are completely ruined because there is no where for us to buy these wicking strips.. any suggestions?

I see that you are in the UK and your Viper2 is different than the one sold here in the US, but you may find something useful on our support site support.coldes.com
