Default Kiosk III (K3) print head on a HM1?

Our DTG dealer told us that next time we'll need to replace the print head of our HM1, they will install the one that goes on the K3 instead. They asure they are compatible and everything should work the same.

Did anybody had a K3 print head installed on a HM1? Does it work as good? (or even better?

Thank you!

The machines are based on Epson print heads, the HM1 takes the Stylus 2400 head, I would imagine the K3 does as well so I doubt you'll see any changes in print performance

Hi Albert,

The HM1-C has been coming with this head (same as K3) for roughly 18 months now, so you will not encounter any problems with the conversion.

Hope this helps!

Well, in Europe new HM1 are NOT sold. Don't ask me why, DTG commercial policies I guess

We also own a K3, and I can tell you the head performs MUCH BETTER in terms of maintenance as the one for the HM1-C. We don't need to do barely any cleaning during the day with the K3. Different story with the HM1. I read that K3 head is better in terms of anti-adherence and so on, so this might be the reason.

Can I assume that will be the same for the HM1 if we change it?

The head used on the K3 is an Epson 1900 head which has the teflon coated face - which repels ink better than the older heads for the 1800 & 2400. You can expect less issues of surface clogs on this head than on the older heads.

Yes, I can confirm that those heads are compatible... we interchange them more than once...Different ink layout but it works...
