Improperly installing the capping station can cause this problem. I doubt it has anything to do with the head alignment. Why are you doing a head alignment anyway? Were you prints not coming out right?

Wouldn't an improperly installed capping station cause more problems than just hitting the spit station on a head alignment?

the printer prints fine except iam having alignment issues on white and need to choke to much which causes other issues, thought head alignment would fix problem but print head hits spit station.

when i do an alignment the printhead releases from the capping station but does not raise enough to miss the spit station.

cheers

talked to a local tech who thought most probably the machine is slightly out of alignment due to shipping and was not too concerned anything major was wrong as machine still prints fine, advised to lower the spit station, which fixed the problem.
