Default [Needed] OEM chips for 3880

Maybe someone here can help me out. I am putting together my first DTG with a UFO base and a 3880. The printer did not come with ink carts and from what I have read I need the OEM chips to use with aftermarket carts.

A couple questions:
1. If I am planning to use a cyma+wwww set up, do I need all the original chips or just specific colors?
2. Where can I buy these OEM chips for a reasonable price? Does anyone have a set they no longer need?
3. Is there an inexpensive set of reliable auto-reset carts that you might recommend. I have been looking at the gun-shaped set that is sold a few places online.

Thanks!

You probably can't buy OEM chips, what you can probably check ebay or craiglist for the Epson pro 3880 new or used carts and hopefully get a good deal on them. Then you can remove the chips for use in your alternative system

Why would you use OEM chips ?
Just buy CISS cartridges from China.

Have a look at aliexpress.com
Talon likes this.

It is my understanding that the 3880 has a pressurized ink system that makes using a ciss impractical.

I just purchased a complete set of used empty OEM carts from ebay. Hopefully I will be able to use the chips from them in the refillable system. I vaguely remember reading that the OEM chips must not be completely empty in order to be reset. I guess I'll find out soon enough.
