Arrow Where to get a print head for Epson R2000 ?

Hello,

I owe a Unique printer which is basically modified Epson R2000 to DTG. After almost a week of trying to unclog the print head I started to look for a new print head. Original idea was to buy a new Epson R2000 and replace the print head. But instead I found out that R2000 is not in production any more.

I contacted the original printer supplier. but have not received any answer yet. Ali/express has crazy prices for this print head.

Perhaps someone could suggest me what to do? Since R2000 is not in production there has to be a model which replaced it. So maybe its possible to adapt other Epson printer head to mine R2000?

Any DX5 print head will work. They are or were used on a lot of printer.
Not the 1800 & maybe the 1900, has the DX4 print head, may work but no coating on them.

I have contacted one supplier form China.

But. The weirdest thing is that the price for 1 print head is 200$ and for 3 pcs its 300$. When it sounds too good to be true, it cant be true.

The DX5 printer head is original, there is no company can produce the compatible printer head for Epson DX5.

If you need this printer head, please let me know which one you need, there are 4 versions :
Gold surface encryption
Gold surface without encryption
Grey surface encryption
Grey surface without encryption

..."

I found a used R2880. So I am thinking to take the R2880 print head and mount it to R2000.

As far as i know it has a DX 5 print head. And according to what I saw selling online the locked DX 5 print heads fit R1900, R2000, R2880 printers, therefore theoretically the R2880 head should fit the R2000 printer.

One the other hand R2880 CMYK cartridges are placed differently.

Would be thankful to hear an advice if this could work out.

As far as I know the driver or RIP sets the cartridges, so that shouldn't matter.
You can put in WHITE ink & tell the RIP where they are.
I was able to get 2- print heads from China for the Epson 9600 for $300.00 each & they work great.
Say aren't the print heads made in China anyway?
Oh, one of the 9600 will be going up for sell soon.

Thats the crazy part about China.

The price for a DX5 print head range is 200$ - 1 500$ (I am talking about the print head for pigment ink)

No joke, one guy offered me 50$ for a print head.
