Default Signs that indicate capping station and pump needs replacing?

Hey guys,
I got a r1800 base dtg. I was told to replace the dampers every 2 or 3 months and the pump/capping station every 6 months. I just want to know what are the signs that will indicate to me that the pump/capping station requires replacing?

I believe the signs are appears when you do a head cleaning and it doesn't clean correctly.
Nobody can tell you when to replace, it depends on how you use, how many times you print etc.
