Default My DIY DTG Epson 2880 build

Just thought I'd post a picture of my current Epson 2880 DIY DTG build. I was able to get the PE sensor mounted yesterday with some help from a friend.

Got a little more work done on the printer today Needless to say there are quite a few wires that needed lengthening.

Mount the mother board /Power supply to the upper back of the printer & you won't have the wiring problem.

Well I was able to finish the last soldering jobs tonight, and was able to turn the printer on for the first time in a couple of months.

So I turned the printer on for first time in a couple of months, and to no surprise I'm getting the flash red lights of death after the ASF assembly spins around a couple of times. Not sure what the problem is, but any help would greatly be appreciated.

Ummm, I'll have to double check which two lights are flashing, and yes the 2880 has a ASF board / sensor.

It's almost impossible to do a build without the epson adjustment program to read the error codes.

Epson R2880 Service Adjustment Program - Service Manuals download service

If you post the code here it gives a better idea of what part is the issue.

Paid for the utility you described, but it didn't do that much as far as troubleshooting the error I'm getting.

He's right. You need to use the adjustment program in order to find the error codes it's throwing and a description. It's pretty close to impossible to tell what's wrong with it otherwise.

Make sure your printer is on and connected then open the adjustment program, click on "Particular adjustment mode" then scroll down to the ---Appendix--- section and double click on "Printer information check" and click "Check". This will populate all of those fields with information about your printer and you'll be looking at the "Latest fatal error code 1-5". Click on "Error Detail" and match the error code to a meaning and you'll find your culprit. If you can't figure it out past that, post the error code and meaning on here and we'll have a better idea of what could be wrong.
