Default Ink Leaking from Head

I'm seriously getting ready to throw this thing in the trash.

I bought a modified epson 1430. The ink continuously leaks from the printhead, so much so that it leaves huge black drips and streaks on the garments. I've tried doing everything.. I've even gone over every post I possible could in the forum and no luck.

It takes cartridges. I'm using EZFast ink from Equipment Zone. I've cleaned this thing, done nozzle checks and print head cleanings and I've emptied the waste bottle and I've left it unplugged and I've changed how much ink is in the cartridges and I've taken the plastic plug things out and I've put them back in and nothing changes.

I have no idea what to do. I was using JPSS transfers and have been waiting two years to switch to DTG because I knew the quality would be so much better. The reality is my business is counting on this and my orders are already late. I feel like I fudged up with this buy.

the distance between table and print head might be too small. do you have a way to adjust that?

i would get some stains when lint touched the printhead.

what kind of cartridges are you using? they usually have two plugs on top, one for refilling and one for air. the refilling plug needs to be closed (colored one). the other one i only have open when the printer is on and close after i shut the printer down.

maybe post an image of the cartridges.

I have heard of similar experiences with the EZFast cartridges... IMO, they had a bad production run...

I am having the same problem with my Refillable Ink Cartridges from CISInks in an Epson R3000 with a UFOPrinter base.

Going to play with the platen height and see what happens but any other ideas are welcome.

the way the ink drops have been smudged left and right it looks like the print head touched the platen. i wouldn't make too many prints like this, i'd be afraid to damage the head. definately lower the platen.

Thanks. I only made two prints that way. Lowered the platen A LOT. Prints are coming out fine now but there is still slight/occasional spotting.

im told with the 1430 setup maybe this is for all of them i am not sure but when u change the regular ink and cartridges to ciss or refillable cartridges you need to do a ink charge. this is done when u first install the printer and put inks in it. u need to find the adjustment software and go to particular settings after that you need to do a ink charge. this allows the head to empty and than refill also adjust the capping station so it seals the print head. i tried yesterday and it seemed to be working as of now after 6 tshirts. i don't know 100% if its fixed but i am going to be testing more today

Ink leaking is mostly because there's air pressure inside the cartridges.
Just be sure to use a method that doesn't cause pressure inside the cartridges, look on Youtube how to do it.
