Question How to print with only black ink

Hi Folks,

I'm actualy trying to print black and white picture on my DTG.
I use AccroRip for process.

When i use my usual settings i have different scale of grey on garnment. I dont find this very beautiful.

What i would like to do is to print on DTG with something similar as screen printing.

I mean, i dont want grey scale but only black dots that would create the picture and so i would like to use only black color.

I guess i need to make a photoshop treatment for transform my picture from grey scale tu black dots.

After spend about 2 days on this i didnt succeed to find the way.

May someone know how to do ?

Thanks for help guys <3

in photoshop just transform the image into a solid black.
Double click layer -> Color Overlay

And print as greyscale.

Hi,

Thank for your message Mr Johnson.

Unfortunaly, i didnt succeed to make it work ;(

I tried on a real black and white picture and color overlay worked (bob marley picture)

But if i take a grey scale picture, i only have a grey screen (with other picture attached to this post).

An idea ?

Why not try this other RIP that is exclusive to print black and white images?

The problem a few things, CMYK is making the black. Some rips you can make your image CMYK and just use pure K when printing. Did you try making it grey scale mode in photo shop and then converting it back to rgb?

Hi Guys,

Thanks a lot for your help.

I finaly find a way, maybe it can help somene else.

Here it is :

Open Image on Photoshop.
Go to "Image", -> "mode" then convert to grey scale.
Go to "image", -> "mode" then convert to Bitmap. I choose "output: 196 pixels/inch"

Then i got the picture with only black dot.

Now i need to find how to say printer to use ony black ink instead of CYMK.
I use accrorip and it dont display this option.

I'm gonna try "quadtoneRIP" then i will tell you if i succeed and if so how i did.

Wish you the best.
