I did email David and he's going to update the video for the modified ASF component. He also said he's looking at redesigning the platens as well. I believe they might be some type of hoop setup "don't quote me on this". I've never liked the platens that came with it. The platens were the weakest link when it came to this setup.
When designing products for sale all over the World patents can be an issue. What might be infringement in the US might not be the same case elsewhere.

Not sure if hooped platens are the way to go on the UFO DIY conversion kit.

Yes, there is a US patent on the TucLoc Platens from Livingston Systems. Spectra as well as their customers completely satisfied with them they hold garments tight, removing wrinkles and allowing printing heads an unobstructed path.
Hooped platens will decrease valuable printable area on the garment.

TucLoc is also used on plenty of other proven DTG such as the Mod1, Veloci-Jet, DTG Viper, Kiosk, Summit DTG and Omni Print FreeJet. , offering a verity of platen such as, sleeve, hats, youth left chest, and hoodies.

I could get all that if we were talking about TucLoc's.

To those of you that have the UFO base, what is the "Free Professional RIP provided"?

Also, I assume the platen is removable...?

I'm interested in this system, I have have an r3000 sealed in the box ready to go. I've sent several emails to David, without response. I'm on the fence...

Thanks

You have to put the platens on yourself. Like I was trying to say in earlier post, "I don't like them". It has nothing to do with the rubber being used to hold down the shirts. It's the platens laying flat on the table. You have to take the extra time tucking the shirts so they don't get held up on printer. I would like to have the option to adjust each corner.

I actually bought a used Viper 4-2-1 platen. So my comments had nothing to with not liking products from Livingston System.

The valuable space "DTGPRINTERPARTS" describes "hoop style" is a concern on a A3 model, but it wouldn't matter much on a A2 model.

I would suggest buying WhiteRip if you ordered a flatbed. I don't like EKprint. Takes too many adjustments to get a perfect print. You can download free demo of WhiteRip. Once you compare it to EK you'll want to switch. Skin tones look more natural with WhiteRip.

Psychobilly, I was starting to think I was crazy since everyone here says how great David is at communication. I thought I was the only one who sent several inquiries with no reply. The only reason I am still interested is because of the rave reviews about the system and the support from David.

I've sent emails dating back to late November, no response.

I just downloaded the WhiteRIP demo, anyone know what it costs?

Just got my kit from David. I'm ready to get it going. But I didn't recurve any videos in the package or software. I did however recurve a USB flan drive. I popped it in thinking it was the videos and software but my comport won't show it as a drive. Sent him am email but anxiously awaiting an answer. Lol

Does anybody know where to get the videos for modification on 1430.

It;s probably the dongle for ACRORIP, not a flash drive, videos are on his youtube channel.
