Default Epson Print Head Cost

Why has the cost of print heads sky rocketed over the past couple of years? Its hard for me to justify buying a $600 printer just for the print head but its $800 for the print head alone. Doesn't make since at all. Im sure they are very cheap to manufacture.

Default Re: Epson Print Head Cost

One reason is that Epson has discontinued some motherboards and print heads....or so I have been told

Even the R3000 can be purchased for $599 refurbished from Epson but they want $800 - $1200 for the print heads online.

eBay is full of these printers that the heads have been stripped out.
