I have uploaded a video showing my UV LED Printer.... I waffle on a bit about the setup, but there are few things I think will help if you are building one of your own.

The video was too long to have it as one video so I split it into 2 parts....

Part 1 - 10mins

Part 2 - 13mins

There is a quality posting of 3 different lamp suppliers in the US here:

uvled lamps for curing | UV-LED Printer Forums

It mentions Phoseon, Clearstone Technologies, and Excelitas as companies that sell this equipment.

sorry and thank you for the information, but we are here dealing with the issue of designing our own adaptation of the modified equipment uv system for ourselves

You need to cure the UV ink using a UV light source while printing.
If you are thinking of curing the ink after you have printed, the ink colours will run into each other, or not stick to the material until they are cured with a UV LED light.

These inks also are corrosive so you need to make sure your print head can use these inks.

It depends on what you are printing on.
I have tried printing onto acrylic without having the UV LED on and the ink turns to 'blobs' on the material, and all the colours merged into each other.

The UV inks look the same as normal inks, and on smooth surfaces will not dry quick enough to keep a sharp image without curing them while printing.

If you are printing onto an absorbent material like card or wood, it might work to cure the ink after with a UV light box.

Hi camposz, here is a diagram for reversing the Plate/Bed using a separate power supply. I am not an expert in this, but this worked for me.

2 things to remember...

1> Do not allow the external power connect to the motherboard power, you will blow the motherboard.

2> You will need another switch to disable the PE sensor, (or turn on the CD tray sensor) so the printer does not think there is a paper jam while reversing the Plate.

I was wondering did you do any modification to ink system within the printer? As I don't have any experience with uv inks. Do they contain traces of solvent? And did you switch the head adapter to solvent proof, big thanx in advance.

UV inks do not have solvents in them. But all the ink lines MUST UV light resistant.

On my Epson R1900 the UV LED inks melted my CISS System (see the pics on the bottom of page 1 of this thread).
I have also replaced the Capping Top because it started to perish, so it would not seal around the ink head to clean it. I'm not sure if it was just getting old or if the UV LED ink melted it.
