Thanks for sharing your photos. When I tested my brand new C88 printer with ebay UV ink, it clogged on page 2. How many pages did you manage to print? Any clogging problems? What type of ink are you using?
Where are the LEDs from? I bought mine from ebay, a vendor from russia is selling them. How many watts and pieces did you install? Thanks. thomas

Unfortunately don't use uv inks since they clogged the head at page 2... . It was like 2 years ago, don't remember the vendor's name from ebay.. This is why I started the topic, probably there is somebody smarter than I. Is the 50w LED one giant diode, or you use multiple doides total output of 50W?

it is one giant led....you must have dimmer driver to control power of led....

it need to have colling for led...chinese selling air and water base colling systems but they are asking from 700-1500$ for one set up... i decide to make it buy my own....and it will cost me 120$.... i have tried with 3x3watt uv led but it cant dry ink...

Instead of cooling why don't use 20 of the 3 watt diodes? Less money and no cooling needed.

Aomya UV LED inks from alibaba should be fine, I was looking at those inks before buying from www.chncolor.com/

I have had no problem with ink clogging, but I can not print at the maximum resolution of 5760 x 1440 (you can see the ink droplets forming under the head)
I have to print at 2880dpi x 1400dpi.

Also you need to make sure the UV LED passes over the full image while printing. Some Rip software can make the printer move the full width on each pass, but if it cant you have to set up your artwork with a margin on the left and add some very faint lines either side of your artwork so the printer moves the full width of the printer.

See the attached pic to explain...
(you can put some tape or strips of paper down the sides so the yellow ink does not go onto your material, unless someone knows a better way)

The best type of UV LED is the same as the pic attached.

It is very thin (you put a small heat sink and fan onto the back) and does not give off a lot of heat. If you use a dimmable drive unit you have more control.

I have tested the temperature of my 50W UV LED unit while running at about 40% power (this power cures the ink and not the ink on the print heads) and the temperature is always less than 21'C.

My unit has a 50W UV LED with a thin heat sink and fan.
