So, I am kind of in "wait to hear" mode.
I use cobra refill carts and they work great....Yeah EK Rip is the only thing that ran the printer without any errors.

Thanks for the information, I'm currently trying to get mine to work, and had issues with the software not working. I will try EKRIP, is there a certain version I need or is it work for all printers?
Thanks

The version of ekrip you need is based on what printer model you have.

When I contacted Eukon about my situation, they sent me a link to download the software. I would assume, given that I mentioned the printer type, that they would point me in the right direction.

After looking at the trouble-shooting manual, I am waaaaaay out of my skill set.

At this point, I would be happy to pay someone to get this to work......

Why it's above your skill set ? EK is pretty straight forward.

Would you be willing to give me some tips on unclogging the print heads?
Thanks so much!

Without going into too much back story, my IT guys answered my work request and began working on the "Kennedy." They have gotten it to work---kind of. It has yet to print a full picture (just at the bottom), seems to refuse to print on black, and what does print comes out as if it were faded---nothing crisp or vibrant color-wise.

The IT guy, let's call him Reed, has adjusted the settings in EKRip to "heavy" and the picture I mentioned above (on a white t-shirt) is the best it's done.

Any help from my esteemed peers on this? Is this software or hardware? The print heads are clear. The print looks nothing like the YouTube Quick-T video.....

I'm no expert on this particular printer, but I first found this site when I was looking into DIY DTG, as I figured that there had to be a way to do it ones self.

That said, when printing on black, you first lay down a layer of white, then print the colors on top of that. Laying the colors directly on a dark background simply will not work with any DTG printer. In all cases, one wants to buy real DTG inks, which are readily available, in any case. Sorry if any of this is just repeating what you all already know

Though many commercial units are built around Epson hardware, these DIY sort of projects are best limited to people who actually have the know how and mad tinkering skills to actually do it for them selves. If one lacks such skills, one is much better off buying a brand name DTG with warranty and support.

There is a reason a manufactured DTG costs $5k to $20k and these DIY ones do not. Either really do it yourself, or buy a real printer. Buying someone else's DIY project is not likely to end well for you because you will not actually understand enough about how it works (from having built it yourself) to keep it working right.

I bought a dtg printer from Austin John Kennedy in April 2014, It took over 3 weeks to get the RIP Program, and I still can't use the printer, I've left emails and message to the Iproof "Ted" who programs the RIP and with Austin. I'm sure if they would take the time to train or give a owner manual then I could use the printer but until then I'm not able to figure this printer out.
