Default Epson Pro 3800

Does anyone ever try to modify Epson Pro 3800 to be converted to DTG Printer?
I tried before I jumped up to modify Epson Pro 4880, I have Epson Pro 3800 for printing paper before, but right after everything is finish and I try to turn on the printer again after some modification, I got Service Error 1601 = PW sensor malfunction? Should I unplug the PW sensor?

Try putting aluminum tape over the PW sensor... You might have to adjust the tape a bit to get the right reflection...

Finally Epson Pro 3800 in ready state, ready to print...
I will upload one or two videos when everything are finished showing the Epson Pro 3800 printing some white and black t-shirts.
Here are 2 pictures showing in control panel the ready state.

hello, one question, the method to follow for the modification of your printer 3800, is the same as that used for R1900, ie using the tdozer?

or it could indicate which method you used with videos and photos

I'm looking to buy an Epson 3880 for DTG. I wonder if it's worth, if the bulk system is good, there is the service manual and adjustment program. From what I know EKRip already has support for this printer ...

Yes you can use T-Dozer plan with some additional touches, on the other hand I use different more complicated path, I will make the printer moving on it base instead of the t-shirt platen is moving.

If you are already familiar with R1900 build you can go ahead with 3880 or 4880 build, but remember Pro 3880 build isn't exactly the same with R1900 build there are some changes that you have to be made to make it ready to print

Okay guys I will let you know later because in the mean time I am still in the middle of testing it...to make the printer moving you have to know more about electronics that is the key, because you won't be using the epson dc motor stock anymore you will need a bigger and better motor.

Here is my latest development state, I am testing the motor smoothness by moving it forward and backward using the lcd tft control panel. I will upload more videos tomorrow or this week when the time permitted because I have another things to do so I just do this in my spare times. But don't expect the printing result to be good in first run because I need to fine tuning it and doing some feed adjustment setting until I get a perfect result.
