Thank you for looking,
Tieutusamac | | | | | | Very cool...
can you start the 1400 with no platen in place without error? can you print a second shirt in succession without powering off? we used to do as your video shows with the work force 1100 (start it with platen in place) what the 1100 did was pull the platen in when it runs its start up sequence "trip the pe" then you could print... but without the platen in place it would error... and when we tried printing in succession the timing was off!! we could get it to work maybe one out of eight times..
are you having better luck with the 1400 in that respect?
also do use white ink in it yet? im interested if it will lay down enough with the two channels! |

| Re: homemade DTG with Epson 1100??? For Mr. German13
At first, No, this printer cannot start without platen on it. However, it can print a second shirt or more without power off, just pull the platen back enough to pass the paper sensor and it ready to print the next one.
No, I have not used the white ink yet!
Thanks

| Re: homemade DTG with Epson 1100??? At first, is the shirt 100% cotton?
You must hover the heatpress above the shirt for 10 seconds, then lay a sheet of parchment paper above the shirt and then you need to press for 2 minutes with light pressure
Try also to lift the press at the 1st minute for 10 sec and the press for another minute |

| Re: homemade DTG with Epson 1100??? I used normal Epson ink. The inks are not biggest things. The problem is the coat for the tile only!
Thanks for asking

| Re: homemade DTG with Epson 1100??? This thread is a bit old but thought this would be helpful to some.
I thought I could make a go of a WF30 (work force 30) thinking since it was a current offering, they would be available into the future.
Result - is it way to hard to get the sensors to work properly. Do not waste your time. Plus the housing and frame are almost entirely plastic so there was a lot of "fab" work to make a support for the printer head assembly. I wish I would have found this info before I tried. Onto a 1900 or 2200 now. |
