Default Anajet sprint vs. DTG HM1C

I think I have narrowed down my search and would like feedback from you.
Should I buy the ANAjet Sprint or the DTG HM1C

I like the idea of the anajet being made in america, and like the idea of sealed inks.
However the DTG has price on its side $5000 cheaper.
I want to print on dark shirts ( most of my customers want dark shirts).
For me this is a big step and I don't want to regret my decision later.

So please any advice you can give woud be apreciated.

Thakn you.
Chris

Hi Chris,

One other factor to consider is the cost of consumables, with a closed system (using cartridges) the ink is fixed in price at $580 per liter for colors and $680 per liter for white. Buying in liters you can get ink at less than $300 per liter for the HM1-C - basically half the price. So every shirt you print will cost roughly twice the amount in ink with the cartridge system.

I believe the HM1C has the WIMS system allowing you to run the machine with white ink with less chances of a clog if left for periods of time.

Right on Nick. The circulation system reduces clogging issues by not allowing the white ink to settle durning periods of inactivity.

Which printheads the HM1C use now? Is it still the 2400?

We offer (WICS) White in circulating system. Machine circulates the white ink every 2 hours for 10 minutes.

Nice info Len. What is the pricepoint on your machine? How much are inks? How many do you currently have in the field? How do you calculate ink costs?

Folks would like to know so they can make a realistic comparison.

Thanks,

As a matter of fact I do have a day job, part of it is monitoring the forums - falls under the categories of tech support, marketing, R & D and sales. Unfortunately I don't get to golf like Peter does!

I was going to say, this is what tech support people do instead of playing freecell. It can get real entertaining around here...

I had it narrowed down to those two printers myself. (Well, the Sprint wasn't out yet nor was the C version of the HM1) I went with the DTG. They both looked like fine printers. My reasons for going with the DTG were the purchase price (I got a bunch of accessories and supplies with the printer for less money than the Anajet printer alone) and the operating expense.
Don't buy into the "horror" of the bulk ink system and it's alleged nightmares. Bulk ink in just about any application is going to be cheaper. The WIMS solved most of the issues anyhow and they were as bad as they tried to make it sound. With the cartridge system I was told by the salesman that you need to take the white ink cartridges out once a day and shake them anyhow. That's more than I have to do with the WIMS in place.
Every salesman sells their wares, you can't blame them for that. That's how they make a living.
The Brother salesman I talked to said that they weren't into white ink because it hadn't been perfected yet.
The Anajet salesman told me that the bulk ink system printers had major issues with consistent ink delivery and head clogging. (He also told me that the DTG sales reps were lurking on the forum pretending to be unhappy Anajet et.al. owners. That sealed the deal and turned me away from Anajet. Just sell your wares and don't slam the competition. Very low class.)
I should add that the Anajet salesman hounded me for almost a year even after I had told him every time he called that I had bought a printer and was no longer in the market. The last time I got a little short with him. He hasn't called for a while now. We'll see...

I rambled. Sorry.
Good luck with your purchase.

Brian
