Default design colours to avoid guide on certain colour shirts

Hi I've recently had a sample order done at a DTG printer, they use a Kornit DTG printer and one of my designs had quite a bit of dark colours printed on a black tee.

The design was created in Photoshop so raster image with sRGB IEC61966-2.1 work space. It was printed on 100% organic ringspun combed cotton. It came out much greyer on the tee than the darkness of the design which I wanted to blend in with the black shirt. Now maybe this is impossible to acheive dark colours on dark garment, I'm new to this.

So, just wondered is there any guide to DGT printing on what colours work best with certain colour fabrics.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
