Default Ink cartridge expiration dates

Do you guys out there take the expiration dates on ink cartridges into account. Or doesn't it make much difference?
Wil the print hold less to the garment?

What is cheaper, replacing out of date ink or replacing a print head and clients shirts because you used out of date ink.

Someone told me I could easily count 6 months to a year to the mentioned date, because it's a way of the manufacturer to get you to buy more ink. So I was wondering what the experiences were. I already throw away ink cartridges which had expired...

I'm sure there is a buffer time from the expiration date. How much is what you're comfortable with.

Had all colored ink 4 months over date... After one wash print was fine except for the Black, that was very faded! Changed the Black ink and now its good again.
