Hallo! I live in the middle of nowhere, in a place called Wendover. The town is 120 miles west from Salt Lake City (SLC), 120 miles East of Elko, Nevada (which also has a WalMart). The problem with living in the middle of nowhere is you have to do a little bit of everything to survive.

I have a Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems, however since I graduated in 2002, this got me little work. By circumstance I ended up in the middle of nowhere, and even though I've left a few times, I keep coming back! I work on electronics, computers, and of course make t-shirts, signage, and a few other odds and ends in addition to running a gift shop.

Well, last few days have been really hectic and strange.

Monday: Something strange is happenin in Alabamy
On Monday, my former boss whom is also 1/3rd partner in our gift shop/garments/etc business came in and wanted 72 t-shirt's printed on the DTG. I guess he's purchased a movie theater in Alabama. So now he has: two towing companies, one auto sales, one auto rental, two hotels, our gift shop, and now a movie theater in "Alabamy". He's headed out to Alabamy this...

Patiently waiting!

Well, this week should be very fun.

The Bonneville Speed Week just started today, hoping that our shop sees something, if it doesn't then I'll have to make some trips to the salt flats.

We should be receiving a lot of items from the show this week as well. The Cap Platen looks like it's probably going to arrive Tuesday or Wednesday, was hoping they were going to ship it last Tuesday, instead they shipped it on Friday after I called to verify that it was on its way....

ASD/AMD Show, Day 3 the Finale!

Posted August 13th, 2008 at 10:12 PM by joeshaul
Today was the final day at the ASD/AMD show.

The final day many of the vendors try to offload their product so they don't have to pay freight and crap to haul it back. Some are lucky enough to sell their entire booth before the final day. When a booth gets sold they generally just stick up a notice saying "Booth sold" or something, so that any people wanting to buy one or two items to take back will know not to ask. Whoever buys the booth has to pick up the goods after...

ASD/AMD Show, Day 2

Posted August 12th, 2008 at 08:05 PM by joeshaul
Feet are tired! Spent the entire day walking, except for lunch which I spent standing in line for about an hour, then ate for about 15 minutes only to walk more.

Today we ordered:
The cap platen for our Brother. My mom decided to take the damage for it (wasn’t part of our allocated spending money, so either myself or her would put forth the investing). I need to see about getting some caps on their way before the Bonneville Speed Week is over with now.

Well, I guess technically the show was open yesterday. Today we registered, which only took us a few minutes, then we went on ahead to start browsing. So far I haven't seen any really really good deals, which there's usually tons of at this show. We walked the entire bottom floor of the Sands (100-1600 I believe), and started on the top floor (2000-3200 I believe, leaving 3300-10000).

Today we ordered:
Balloons that can be personalized, these are inkjet printable and are...
